Ville & Company works with the Health & Safety Executive

Ville & Company announces it has won a contract to lead a fundamental review of the Health & Safety Executive. The objective of the review is to 'improve HSC/E’s ability to deliver its mission including meeting its targets and ensuring its resources are used to best effect’.

It is proposed to undertake the review in two phases. Phase 1 will provide an independent assessment of the key issues facing HSC/E and gather some thoughts on possible solutions. The output from Phase 1 will be a presentation to the Board. Phase 2 will identify options for addressing the key issues facing HSE and recommend solutions to the Board.

This phase of the project will be led by the Board but with support and challenge provided by Ville & Company. The output for Phase 2 will comprise an agreed proposal and action plan for each of the 3/4 key problems identified in Phase 1.

Nick Ville says that Ville & Company greatly looks forward to working with HSC/E on the Fundamental Review.  The HSC/E performs a very important role and I hope the work of Ville & Company will enable it to be even more successful in the future.

Ville & Company works with Audit Commission

Ville & Company has been asked to work alongside the Audit Commission to develop their response to ODPM’s consultation paper Inspection Reform: The Future of Local Services Inspection published in November 2005.

As part of a major overhaul of the regulation of the public sector eleven inspectorates and regulators are being merged into four covering the areas of children's services, local services, health and social care and justice, community safety and custody.

Nick Ville says that although the government's proposals make a lot of sense the proposals need more work if they are to develop into a coherent approach to regulation across the 4 inspectorates that is successful in reducing burdens on the front-line and uses a truly risk based approach.
